Squaw Valley Ski Resort is one of the largest and most popular ski areas in the U.S., and was the site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. It is the second-largest ski area at Lake Tahoe and because of the resort's popularity, the entire community of Olympic Valley is commonly referred to as "Squaw Valley." The resort attracts 600,000 skiers a year. It is known for its superb snow fall as well as its extreme skiing. Don't let that deter you though. Squaw Valley caters to the whole family and is an all inclusive resort.
