Mt. Rose is located in the Lake Tahoe/ Reno area and has the highest base of any other ski resort in the area. The area was originally skied by locals in the 1930s before there were lifts available. They would hike to the top of 9700' Slide Peak and ski what is now Mt. Rose. The resort offers wonderful snow and was actually used as an alternate for the 1960 Winter Olympics, in case Squaw Valley didn't have enough snow. Mt. Rose offers everything from beginner runs to double black diamonds. Come and experience Tahoe's best kept secret.
