Yosemite National Park offers a combination of spectacular granite filled valleys and mountains. There are an abundance of waterfalls cascading from the granite cliffs. The Merced River offers summertime fun as it meanders through the meadows. Deer and other wildlife are often spotted along the nearby meadows. The park offers a multitude of recreational activities, including hiking, biking, swimming, photography, and much more.

Bodie State Historic Park is one of the best preserved ghost towns in the west. Many of the buildings are being maintained in a state of arrested decay.

The town quickly developed after the discover of gold in 1859. By the 1870s it had three breweries and many saloons and dance halls.
